Superintendent
Laurie Doering, Superintendent

I've spent the entirety of my 40-year professional career serving the Crane Elementary School District. My journey started when I was a student teacher and then progressed to the role of teacher, professional development coach, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent. I became superintendent in July 2017. We are proud of our district, its accomplishments, and the many staff members who are working tirelessly to provide the necessary and vital function to the Yuma valley community. At Crane we serve over 6,100 preschool through eighth-grade students across ten schools, and we seek to have a culture of continuous improvement, living under the mantra of “as good as we are, we can always be better.”
Through the efforts of those before me, our district is proud to celebrate its academic excellence, nurturing culture, and being an integral and involved element within our community. I look forward to continuing those initiatives through innovative and creative, yet research-based concepts along with the continued path of fiscal responsibility and compliance. Crane is categorically one of the finest school districts in the state, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Superintendent alongside a dedicated, passionate, and courteous staff.
