Karen Johnson, President Mrs. Karen Johnson was raised in Yuma, Arizona, graduated from Kofa High School, Arizona Western College and NAU-Yuma. She has worked in the education system for 35 years. Her husband is an educator that has taught for over 40 years. All five of their children attended Crane School District, and they have 8 grandchildren. Karen served as the national president for the School Nutrition Association from 2004-05. Karen was inducted into the Yuma County Educational Foundation Hall of Fame in 2010, and presently serves as the Child Nutrition Director in a neighboring district. Mary Garcia, Member Mrs. Mary Garcia, a fourteen-year veteran of the Governing Board, is a homemaker. Mrs Garcia is very involved in her children’s activities and as a volunteer in our schools. Her husband, Frank, is the Assistant Principal of Activities at Kofa High School. They have three children who attended Crane schools. Mary is a 2012 All-Arizona School Board Award Winner. Jim Colby, Member Mr. Jim Colby taught in Yuma for thirty-eight years. His wife, JoAnn Safranek, taught in Crane for twenty years. They have four children and eight grandchildren. Jim is presently serving as Regional Commissioner for sport's officials, and is on the Boy's and Girl's Club Board.
