TITLE:          Facilities Maintenance Specialist

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1.         High school diploma, GED or trade school which provides technical knowledge in building construction and repair.

 

2.         Five years previous experience in building construction and repair, e.g., electrical, air conditioning and lighting and plumbing.

 

            3.         Electrical and plumbing certification desired.

 

 

REPORTS TO:

 

Principal, Rancho Viejo with direction from Director, Facilities Maintenance

 

JOB GOAL:

 

To maintaining operational excellence throughout the Rancho Viejo facilities.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.         Performs carpentry work, i.e., panels, walls, installs ceiling tile,  patches sheet rock, paints walls, woodwork and equipment; glazes windows, repairs furniture; frames and hangs doors; patches shingle and tarpaper roofs; constructs shelves and cabinets.

 

2.         Performs plumbing work; i.e., installs toilets and washbowls, repairs and replaces valves, lines and pipes; repairs and replaces drinking fountains.

 

3.         Maintains and repairs electrical systems, changes ballasts, locates electrical shorts, changes bulbs and tubes, electrical switches and receptacles, adds voltage and installs light fixtures.

 

4.         Directs the repair of water systems and other mechanical equipment.

 

5.         Inspects buildings and equipment for necessary maintenance and repair.

 

6.         Maintains inventory of necessary maintenance parts and materials.

 

7.         Pours and finishes concrete.

                                                                                                                       

8.         Performs record keeping; makes cost estimates and/or obtains price quotes on materials and supplies.

 

9.         Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

12 month work year.  Salary and benefits as established by the Board.

 

 

EVALUATION:

 

Performance of this job shall be evaluated by the Rancho Viejo Principal in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
