TITLE:          Dean of Students (Middle School)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1.         Must have a valid Arizona teaching certificate.

 

2.         Must have a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience.

 

3.         Administrative certificate preferred.

 

REPORTS TO:

 

Building Principal

 

JOB GOAL:

 

Primary goal is the coordination and supervision of school wide discipline program.  Work with administration in overall successful operation of the school.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.         Assist the Principal with student discipline as assigned.

 

2.         Assist in the supervision of lunch duties.

 

3.         Assist with in school suspension program.

 

4.         Assist with transportation problems.

 

5.         Assist in site-based staff development.

 

6.         Assist with parent/teacher/school communication.

7.         Work with instructional teams and parents on individual and group discipline plans.

 

8.         Assists in follow-up actions regarding attendance and truancy issues.

 

9.         Assists in after-school programs as assigned.

 

10.       Assumes the school responsibilities in the absence of the principal.

 

11.       Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

School year.  Teacher’s contract with stipend amount as established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:

 

Performance of this job shall be evaluated by the Building Principal.
