TITLE:          Assistant Director, Federal Programs

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1.         Valid Arizona Principal’s certificate preferred.

 

2.         Masters degree in education administration or similar field required.

 

3.         Verbal bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred.

 

4.         Early childhood and adult education experience preferred.

 

REPORTS TO:

 

Director of Academic Support

 

JOB GOAL:

 

Organize and coordinate Crane Elementary School District preschool and adult education programs by making available educational experiences for community preschool children and to support the educational growth of adults in a family literacy setting.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.         Supervision of program staff.

 

2.         Assumes the responsibility for administration, fiscal monitoring, procurement,        budgeting, supervision, evaluation, and reporting for all program activities.

 

3.         Monitors and updates grant goals and responsibilities and submits for project         continuance.

 

4.         Coordination of goals and objectives with the State Board of Education.

 

5.         Set up and coordination of evening parental education classes.

 

6.         Establish communication between school administration and community.

 

7.         Continuous interaction and recruitment of district parental and preschool    participants for the programs.

8.         Involved in the selection of program staff.

 

9.         Assists with the development of flexible and creative individualized program         curriculums.

 

10.       Continually evaluates the programs and maintains appropriate records.

 

11.       Acts as the representative for the District in family literacy issues in the      community.

 

12.       Supervises six grants programs (Great Beginnings, Family Literacy, Jump-start,      Little Gems, Adult Education, and Title I).

 

13.       Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

Teachers contract and stipend.  May include additional days.  Salary and benefits as established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:

 

Evaluation of this position will be performed by the Academic Support Director/qualified evaluator in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
