In 2005, the Arizona School Facilities Board approved of the award for the construction of Mesquite Elementary School.

The completion of the construction of Mesquite in 2006 coincided with the beginning of construction for the new Pueblo. Because Crane Schools operates on a modified year round schedule, it only leaves 6 consecutive weeks for construction during the summer months. Because this was not adequate for the construction of a school facility, the students, staff, teachers and the school administration moved from Pueblo into Mesquite, and that campus was known as "Pueblo at Mesquite" until Pueblo's construction was complete in August 2007.
