History

After a successful bond election in 1986, Crane Junior High School opened its doors in August 1987.

In the fall of 1998, the Crane District Governing Board voted to change the name of the current junior high to Crane Middle School, thus reflecting the change in educational focus that the staff, administration, and Governing Board began when “teaming” was initiated.

An extensive focus on academics has resulted in the school elective focus moving toward intervention and enrichment support for students. Our focus continues to be improving student achievement.

The mantra of the school is “As Good As We Are, We can Always Get Better.” We continually strive to improve in everything that we do and welcome feedback from others.

Thus, it is obvious that Crane Middle School has a long and proud history, one that will carry it far as its staff and students move into the twenty-first century.
