Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments (AEPA)

The AEPA assessments are offered for professional knowledge and subject knowledge tests which are required for most teaching certificates.  Comparable out-of-state tests may be substituted for these assessments.

Who is required to take the tests?

Professional Knowledge Tests - Effective September 1, 2012, the AEPA Elementary and Secondary Professional Knowledge test are being replaced by the NES Assessment of Professional Knowledge tests.   To register or learn more, visist www.nestest.com/arizona.

A professional knowledge test is required of all applicants for a teaching certificate. There are three levels of the Professional Knowledge test: Early Childhood (93), NES Assessment of Professional Knowledge Elementary (,http://www.nestest.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/NT051_TestPage.html) and NES Assessment of Professional Knowledge Secondary (http://www.nestest.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/NT052_TestPage.html)
