Mrs. Camden's Kindergarten Class

Welcome to Mrs. Camden’s Kindergarten Class!
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
My name is Mrs. Camden and I will be your child’s teacher this year.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year.  I graduated from Southwestern College which recently changed its name to Arizona Christian University.  Since graduating in 2006 I have been working as a teacher and loving my time working with students and their families.
Parent/ Teacher Relationship
I believe that a positive parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success.  In order to build a positive relationship, I will be communicating with you through notes, telephone calls and emails.  I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or would like to volunteer in the classroom.  The office number is (928)373-4100 and my email address is RCamden@craneschools.org. Please allow 1-2 school days for me to return phone calls/ emails.
Classroom Guidelines
My goal for each year is to create a fun classroom where our students are safe, respectful, and responsible.  To obtain this I will use rules, procedures, rewards such as PA time and consequences such as time out.
Rules:
1.      Follow directions the 1st time.
2.      Keep hands, feet and other objects to ourselves
3.      Be nice to others
4.      Listen while others are speaking
5.      Work together respectfully and responsibly
PAT:
PAT stands for Preferred Activity Time.  As a class, students earn PAT time by following class rules and procedures. They can also earn time by getting a compliment from another teacher. Students can also lose time if they are not following procedures. When students have earned their PAT they will have a choice between different educational activities.
Individual Rewards
1.      Stickers
2.      Prize from treasure box
3.      Fun Educational Activity or PAT

Individual Consequences
1.      Time out
2.      Parent contact
3.      Teacher’s choice
Toys and Valuables
School is a time to learn.  Class time is very precious. Toys and valuables such as watches, jewelry, cell phones etc. can be a distraction for students. I am asking that students please leave toys and valuables at home. If a child chooses to bring a toy or valuable to school they are responsible for the item if it gets lost or broken. The safest place for toys and valuables is at home.
Closing
In closing let me just say I am so excited to start another year! I look forward to working with you and your child.  I know we are going to have a great year! If you ever have any concerns, questions, or you would like to volunteer please let me know.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Camden
